About the Artist

Caressa Murphy.

This is an ancient Gumbaynggirr story, part of the Muurrbay Dreaming story. This part teaches us about what happens when we pass away. Our bodies are returned to Mother Earth and our souls travel to Spirit Tree through her roots, then transition into her trunk and eventually out of her limbs and into Father Sky. This story belongs to all Gumbaynggirr people.
